American rock band Switchfoot had early success in the Christian rock scene in the late nighties and early noughties later gaining mainstream recognition. They released their major album The Beautiful Letdown with hits including 'Meant to Live' and 'Dare you to Move' exploring faith and philosophy.
But the band has always questioned the 'Christian' musical label once telling Rolling Stone magazine "We're Christian by faith, not genre."
