43-year-old Preacher Hatun Tash is not backward in coming forward in her approach to sharing The Gospel with Muslims and has been described by some in the British press as 'colourful'.
Tash grew up in Turkey during the 80s and 90s where she says the country was more 'secular' but nevertheless identified as Muslim.
It was only when she came to the UK, began hanging out with some 'friendly Christians' and then completed an Alpha Course, that things began to change - though not immediately.
It took Tash a year to ask some of the serious theological questions, top of which was: Did Jesus really die? Getting to the bottom of that lead her on a journey to explore the veracity of The Koran and what Muslims were taught about who Jesus was and how he related to God.
She began talking, then debating eventually finding herself at Speakers Corner where she challenged Muslims and Imams on their doctrine and her style became bold and uncompromising.
She has been arrested twice by the met police. Once in 2020 and again in 2021 for criminal damage to a copy of The Koran (that she says was hers) and under the Public Order Act for wearing a Charlie Hebdo T-shirt which depicted the Prophet Mohammed. She was subsequently issued £10k in compensation and an apology by the police. She has also been beaten, stabbed and spat at.
Tash is director of Defend Christ Critique Islam (DCCI) missionary group that engages in interfaith debates primarily with Muslims
On this week's edition of The Profile she talks to Deputy Editor of Christianity Magazine about Emma Fowle about her methods of evangelism, how she's not afraid if people hate her and why she lives every day to share The Gospel.
