From silence to tantrums, from verbal outbursts to punching fists, from pulling out hair to cutting themselves; our children are struggling to manage their emotions. There is a lot happening in their lives and they may not be able to talk it all through calmly. Helen Thorne (BCUK) tells us about her own journey through self harm, as well as helping us to calmly think through helping our children with the normal experience of extreme emotions. We are also joined by Simon Poole (CiS) who tells us about a time in his life when his desire for excellence in sport caused him harm.Ed Drew - is the Director of Faith in Kids. He is the author of Meals with Jesus, the Wonder of Easter and The Adventure of Christmas. Amy Smith - is a writer for Faith in Kids. Helen Thorne - is the Director of Training and Resources for Biblical Counselling UK, which seeks to foster and support Christians as they go about the transforming work of Christ that is accomplished through personal ministry of the Word. Helen is an experienced speaker, counsellor and author whose recent books include Hope in an Anxious World, Walking with Domestic Abuse Sufferers, Purity is Possible, Real Change and Real Change for Students. Simon Poole - works for Christians in Sport as part of the Elite Sport Team supporting elite and professional track and field athletes.
