Women's History Month Playlist : Rachel Kerr's "Masterpeace" and Lurine Cato MBE's "Dance"

Two of UK Gospel's most celebrated female voices released music projects to rave reviews last week. Lurine Cato MBE got us to "Dance" and Rachel Kerr dazzled us with her "Masterpeace.

Lurine Cato MBE

Lurine Cato's new EP "Dance" is the perfect pick-me-up, guaranteed to lift your spirit and infuse joy. Popularly referred to as the Queen of UK Gospel, Lurine is the first recipient of the Step FWD Awards "Lavine Hudson Award for Vocal Excellence."

Speaking about the honour Lurine said: "My goodness where do I start? Ive always admired Lavine Hudson and was starstruck whenever I saw her. Being the first recipient of that award was such an honour, I just wish she was alive for me to thank her. I had the opportunity to watch her perform live when I was a little girl and also performed one of her songs in front of her at a tribute concert. I am so grateful for those opportunities.''

Rachel Kerr

The long awaited album from Rachel Kerr did not disappoint. It's indeed a masterpiece (pun intended). In a recent interview with GQ South Africa, Kerr revealed the goal for the album was to be fearless. "Fearlessly authentic, fearlessly vulnerable, fearlessly creative and fearlessly honest," she added

Kerr's vocal prowess is akin to Beyonce's and her dynamic stagecraft; captivating. The MOBO winner will be criss-crossing the US and Europe this summer in support of her latest release, "Masterpeace." Get your concert tickets here.

''After 2 EPs and 1 mixtape, I can confidently say that this debut album is the best of me to date. It took me 3 years to craft. The sound is so unique, infectious and the subject matters so hair-raisingly powerful...'' said Kerr.
