Winning a MOBO award has made me dream bigger ~ CalledOut Music

Honouring achievements in "music of black origin is the mission of the MOBOs, and the past two decades has seen the biggest names in hip hop, grime, R&B, soul, reggae, jazz, gospel, and African music grace the iconic MOBO stage.

Speaking to Premier GospelGMIA (Gospel Music Industry Alliance) chairperson Tolu Adepegba said: Im looking forward to the MOBO awards this year. Last years nominations were fantastic so Im looking forward to how this year is going to shape, especially for the gospel category. I think its getting stronger and better year on year; you are really seeing the change in different artists being nominated. Theres a good mixture of the different styles of gospel being nominated so Im excited to see what 2021 brings for the MOBOs.

When asked about the impact of his 2020 MOBO win on his career, UK Gospels CalledOut Music responded: Being a recipient has made me take giant strides, its made me dream bigger and believe in my gifts and ability a bit more. Winning the MOBO was an extremely proud moment for my family and I. I remember watching the show year in year out and seeing all my favourite artists performing and receiving their awards on TV. To be the recipient of a MOBO as a gospel musician, and being recognised as a standout artist was just amazing; definitely one of the most humbling moments of my career so far.

Music fans could possibly get a say in some of the nominations this year. The MOBO Awards body tweeted:

The show will be live streamed on YouTube and a special will be broadcast on BBC One.
