William McDowell Concert Review

On Saturday 25th February, over 2000 worshippers gathered from different parts of the UK to see William McDowell live in Birmingham.  The opening acts collation of praise and worship records instantly created a calm and soothing atmosphere.  It was evident that the majority of attendees had an expectant heart, as they longed for Gods presence.

At approximately 8pm, Mr McDowell humbly walked on to the stage opening up with praise his infamous single It Is So.  Many of us were full of joy as we danced and cheered, however, the hype soon died down as we delved into a time of pure worship. He performed some of his well-known songs such as Spirit Break Out, Come Like A Rushing Wind and Send The Rain, and within minutes, many of us fell to our knees in awe of God.  The simplicity of his songs as well as his powerful vocals made it easy for the crowd to feel Gods presence.

The song that really touched my heart was I Give Myself Away.  I remember feeling an overwhelming presence and dropping to my knees as I wept and pleaded with God.  The Holy Spirit filled the room and it was the most beautiful thing ever. The experience was over far too soon, but regardless, the night was a real blessing.  Ive attended a lot of concerts over the years, but this one easily goes to the top of the list.  It made me fall in love with Jesus all over again and I wouldnt have it any other way.

Following the release of his first album As We Worship in 2009, over the years, William McDowell has consistently produced heart-warming worship melodies, becoming one of the most recognised gospel musicians of our time. I was privileged enough to attend his worship concert last month and its safe to say that his fans were completely blown away.  Anybody who avidly listens to Gospel music will be aware of William McDowells incredible material.  However, experiencing it live experiencing it live was absolutely surreal.
