Why we'll NEVER hear from 'DA T.R.U.T.H' again...

DA T.R.U.T.H, known by many as a pioneer of Christian rap and hip hop, has recently announced that he will no longer be going by his stage name. Instead, he will be using his birth name, Emanuel. This decision comes after 20 years in the music industry, during which time he has solidified his place in the Christian music world with success after success. In a recent interview with Cassandra Maria for Premier Gospel, Emanuel explained that he feels more like himself when using his birth name: "the point is Ive evolved in a lot of ways and I feel more like Emanuel than I do Da TRUTH. It has no bearing on my relationship with truth but how Ive been characterised in relation to that name. Da Truth had his run." Despite the change in name, Emanuel's music continues to be as powerful and inspiring as ever. His latest self-titled album is a reflection of this, featuring collaborations with some of the biggest names in Christian music such as Tamela Mann, Todd Dulaney, and Fred Hammond. With 17 songs on the album, this marks the beginning of a new direction for Emanuel. One standout track on the album is 'Grey Hair,' which has already garnered over 150,000 streams on Spotify and continues to gain popularity. In reflecting on life and lessons learned over time while making this track, Emanuel speaks about the gift and curse of knowledge: "you think you know but you dont... Its the gift and the curse of being knowledgeable, the gift is your knowledge is helpful...". Watch the interview here: While DA T.R.U.T.H may have had his run as a stage name, Emanuel's passion for creating alternative Christian music remains stronger than ever. His latest self-titled album is just one example of his continued commitment to spreading positivity through his music. We look forward to seeing what's next for this talented artist under his birth name. Catch Cassandra Maria weekdays from 6pm till 9pm on Premier Gospel radio
