UK ARTIST THAT HAVE FILLED VENUES OF OVER 2000 PEOPLE

Gospel music has been a significant part of the UK music scene for many years, with a strong following and dedicated fan base. Over the weekend CalledOut Music stormed London with a sold-out show at the popular Dominion Centre concert venue. Over the years, there have been numerous occasions when UK Gospel artists have filled venues with a capacity of over 2000 people. In this blog post, we will take a look at 8 of these memorable moments.   1. Bazil Meade & London Community Gospel Choir Royal Albert Hall (2015 - 2022) LCGC have performed at the iconic venue for over 10 years at Christmas time, where theyve filled the venue with over 5,000 gospel music enthusiasts. The concert is just one of the many times, one of the longest running choirs in Europe has filled a venue like this.   2. Karen Gibson & The Kingdom Choir Hyde Park (BST Festival) (2019) The choir renowned for their iconic performance at the royal wedding, have filled some of the biggest venues in Europe and North America. They performed for over 60,000 people at Hyde Park in 2019. The choir that has been going for over 3 decades shows no sign of slowing down.   3. Muyiwa & Riversongz Evetim Apollo (2012) Muyiwa & Riversongz headlined the iconic Apollo venue in Hammersmith, with 5,000 gospel music enthusiasts in attendance. They are the first UK group to fill venues like Ocean in Hackney, and the prestigious Indigo 2 at the O2. That along with Royal Festival halls, and headline group on the BBCs Proms at the Royal Albert Hall.   4. T3 (Faith Child / Victizzile / Guvna B) - Indigo 2 @The O2 Arena (2010) 3 of the most recognisable names in UK gospel took over the unique concert hall and filled it. A capacity of almost 3000 people were treated to some of the best in Christian rap from the UK scene. Guvna B and Faith Child would go on to enjoy life as successful radio and TV broadcasters, while Victizzle would go on to establish Vix Mix Studios that has welcomed some of biggest names in urban music.   5. Diana Hamilton Dominion Centre (2022) The UK songstress of Ghanaian heritage has over the last 7 years ramped up her operations which has seen her filling venues of over 10,000 paying concert goers outside of the UK. Diane spread the love to her home in London when over 2800 music lovers filled the Dominion Centre Concert venue in 2022. Her tickets for the venue sold out faster than the massive gospel celebration before her in the same venue that was headlined by Winans family members, Bebe, Marvin and Debbie, plus Dorinda Clarke Cole, Korean Soul and more.   6. Emmanuel Smith - Indigo 2 @The O2 Arena (2019) A prominent face in UK Gospel and semi-finalist on the TV talent show The Voice UK, Emmanuel, sold out a 2,350 capacity venue in 2019 and was back there again in 2022. These successes follow his time on the popular ITV show where he was being mentored by Will.i.am during his journey on THE VOICE UK.   7. Sonnie Badu DAR Constitution Hall Washington DC (2019) UK gospel artist turned Atlanta based Pastor, whose YouTube video Baba was the first of a UK gospel artist to achieve 1 Million views, had filled many venues in London. His landmark events, however, have been in Ghana, a venue that holds 40,000 people and his Invasion concert, where his guests included, Todd Dulaney, Tye Tribbett, and JJ Hairston.   8. CalledOut Music Dominion Centre (2023) The Premier Gospel and MOBO Award winner hosted his headline concert live in his home town London! With guests like The Spirituals Choir, The Voice UK winner Annatoria and Limoblaze. The sold-out event had concert goers from as far afield as Belgium, Germany, and Turkey.
