Trin-i-tee 5:7s Chanel to play Tina Turner in West End Musical

With Billboard smash hits like Gods Grace and the abstinence anthem My Body, Trin-i-tee 5:7 quickly gained global recognition amassing multiple award nominations along the way.

Line-up changes, management reshuffling and record label issues plagued the group, leading to a recording hiatus. The ladies later returned to the music scene with a new sound and renewed focus delivering a message of hope, passion and encouragement to young women around the world by any means necessary even if its outside the proverbial nine dots, Chanel said in interview with Gospel Flava.

When asked in 2012 by Essence magazine for the keys to a successful career, Chanel shared 5 ingredients The fourth ingredient is being unique. From our performance style to our dress, we dont try to fit into a certain mould. We like to go outside the box that so many people try to place gospel singers in. I embrace Diana Ross and Tina Turner when I go on stage, and Angel embraces her inner Babyface when she hits the notes that she does....

Speaking to music executive Vicki Mack Lataillade about her experience, Chanel said: ...I started looking into a work visa. I started looking for apartmentsor flats. I bought a ticket got an agent and told him that he could pitch me for whatever he wanted but that I was coming to the UK because I wanted to play and will play Tina Turner. After a month of auditions the day finally came and the camera was in the room and that was Tinas eye...

The Tina Turner Musical returns to the Aldwych Theatre on 28 July.
