Tee Supreme: "I don't see a lot of anointing in the UK gospel scene"

Christian rapper Tee Supreme has just dropped a brand new album after taking some time out from the music scene to focus on his growth and development. The artist not only got married within the last year but says he also says he's grown spiritually too in an interview with Ibe Giantkiller. The album 'The Grace Way' dropped last week and there are no collaborations which some may see as unusual for an artist to do, however Tee say's this was an intentional choice: "when I minister I see myself as a minister in a musical form, you don't have two pastors on stage you have one." He went on to talk about the UK gospel scene and how he feels about it: "it's spiritual work. Its not a thing where it's like 'oh yeah, you're hot, let me get you on a track' nah, if that was the case I'd have done a track with everybody. I think a lot of people are talented but talent is not really what we need, it's the anointing, its the grace on the person and I don't really see that much in todays UK gospel music. It doesn't really appeal to me." Tee Supreme doesn't mince his words, however this could be a call for gospel artists to reflect on their output and challenges the reason they make music. The rapper also spoke about how married life has helped him with making the album and touches on how he had to humble himself after releasing his hit track 'Ease and Grace' a few years ago, stating: "those days of Ease and Grace and what not sometimes, it gets to a point where everyone knows you and if you're not careful it gets to your head. I think I had to go through a stage of humility and just calming down." Watch the full interview here: You can catch Ibe Giantkiller weekdays from 2pm on Premier Gospel.
