Walt Ehmer said 21-year-old DeEbony Groves and her friend spent their last moments singing 'Jesus Loves Me' at a Waffle House in Antioch, Tennessee.
The breakfast diner's CEO recounted the woman's final minutes at her funeral on Saturday.
"We went and visited with the survivors, and they talked about the people who were in that restaurant before what happened happened, and specifically remembered your daughter," Ehmer told mourners.
"And [they] spoke of your daughter and her friend, and said they were singing gospel songs. And everybody was singing and enjoying each other and she said, 'The last thing I remember her saying was, singing Jesus Loves Me.' "
The funeral attendees responded with applause and hallelujahs, according to CNN.
Authorities arrested 29-year-old Travis Reinking after the attack on 22nd April. Police have accused him of using an AR-15 rifle to kill four and injure others at the restaurant.
A quick-thinking customer wrestled the assault weapon away, preventing more bloodshed. Reinking then disappeared, police said.
Police said about 20 people were in the Waffle House at the time of the shootings.
