The talented bassist is currently hospitalised with an undisclosed medical condition. His brother, Jesse, has said hes not doing too great but still fighting in a recent video pleading with people to not visit him for the time being. The video, published to his Instagram, said how Joey needs his energy to fight his battle and that whenever visitors pass by Joeys energy is zapped.

Lord, we thank you for the life of Joey, we pray for his health, for his recovery and his strength in this very difficult and strenuous time. We ask that you can give him your peace, your love and your comfort, make this fight an easy one Lord, and work a miracle in his life in Jesus name, amen
