Pastor says "don't be fooled by Truss - Sunak's more 'authentic'"

Amongst their capabilities of leading the country the two have been picked apart for all sorts - including what they choose to wear whilst attempting to win the country over. The secretary of state for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) Nadine Dorries sent a tweet comparing both Truss and Sunaks attire, commenting on how much Rishi has spent on his suit.

On the Gospel Breakfast show Belinda spoke with pastor Wayne Brown about public figures wearing expensive clothes or jewellery amid the story of a pastor in America being mugged whilst preaching and allegedly having $1 million worth of jewellery stolen, asking the question of whether attire matters: you wouldn't want your pastor coming shabby or looking like hes homeless, at the same time you wouldn't want your MPs to look like they cant represent you - I don't want anyone to be fooled that Liz Truss wore 4.50 earrings and she couldn't have worn earrings that were more expensive."

Listen to the interview here:

Brown went on to say how he prefers Sunak to Truss because he feels hes more authentic: you know somewhere in Liz jewellery box she has some pearls or antiques that's been handed down the line, she didnt have to wear the 4.50 jewellery - it's a statement. I prefer Rishi - if you can buy a 2000 suit then just be you. For me, authenticty trumps the display of wealth or no wealth."

Catch Belinda on the Gospel Breakfast Show weekdays from 7am till 10am

The race for whos to be the next prime minsiter of the UK is well underway - with Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak the final two battling it out.
