Pastor Lamor Miller-Whitehead of leaders of tomorrow church, is seen on a now removed video being held at gun-point whilst preaching, being heard to say "All right, all right, all right," as he raised his hands and lowered himself to the floor.
The perpetrators are said to made off with his wedding ring, bishops ring and other pieces of jewellery that came to the amount of $1 million before fleeing on foot. Pastor Mark Saint from America spoke with Belinda on the Gospel breakfast show this morning about how this could've happened, touching on the world we live in today: "A lot of the rules are falling away, for instance Will Smith slap - thats never happened and now that's becoming more prevalent. Now where we have a sacred space with rules those rules are falling away, lawlessness is starting to take place.

Belinda also asked him about why the pastor had too much jewellery on him to which he talked about prosperity churches, where they come from and how the bishop made his money.
In the same show Belinda also chatted with Pastor Wayne Brown about the mugging to which he shared his thoughts on the respect people of today have for the church and compared Christianity to Islam: "theres a generation who are no longer institutionalised. They don't regard authority whether it be in the church or elsewhere, school, police, they don't regard it. As the church we've become steeped in our religious custom and actually theres a generation who dont want religion.
It's too strict but on the other hand it doesn't seem to produce what it's talking about which is why people join the nation of Islam. Its regimented but it produces what it's talking about, its strict, it sets boundaries, it has authroity and defenanceWe've lost our ability to create boundaries as a community and thats reflected in the church on a different level. They no longer feel the need to attend or have reverence because theres no power coming from that which they've seen previously so why should they?"
What do you think, does this generation have less respect for the church and Christian faith?
Catch Belinda on the Gospel Breakfast Show weekdays from 7am till 10am.
