MOBO award winning rapper Guvna B has revealed that he was attacked last year, leaving him blind for months. The rapper, real name Isaac Borquaye, said the incident happened on August 24th 2022 at around 11:30am. The attackers are said to be three men who punched him in his left eye and threw coffee at him. The artist said this was an unprovoked attacked and left him unable to see out of his eye for months after the incident. After speaking with his cousin, writer and actress Michaela Cole, the rapper decided to use the incident to fuel his latest project 'Bridgeland Road', saying: "what I experienced was tough to deal with and my mind was loaded with nuanced thoughts around race, identity and the structures which contribute to shaping society. Michaela reminded me that art isnt just for others to consume, but its also a processing tool for ourselves. She encouraged me to write about what happened and the result is not only this song, but an album that provided me with the closure I desperately needed." Guvna B is set to release the full album 'The Village is on Fire' on May 26th and says it's the 'best music he's ever made' in an Instagram post, stating: "Im really proud of it and I hope it helps people to think about how they can positively impact the world around them."
